The Society of St. Vincent De Paul is organising the week for the poor from the 23rd of September to the 29th of September 2024.

Theme:
Fostering Humanity by transforming lives.

Events for the Week:
23rd September = Opening; Prayer & Reflection.
25th September = Medical Outreach; Consultation, Check up, Drug Dispendation, Health Screening.
27th September = Feast Day Celebration; Mass, Feast Day Thanksgiving, Love Feast, etc.
28th September = Society Visitation; Visitation to Home for the Needy.
29th September = Thanksgiving.

In the course of this week long event, we shall feed and clothe over a thousand people, whilst also attending to their medical needs. We need your support to achieve this. Please be a part of this service to humanity by sending your support to the account details below;

Our giving is a reminder of the blessings God has given us through Jesus Christ. We find in John 3:1 the pure Love of God which should be the foundation of our giving.

The Power of Giving:

By giving you can heal faster emotionally and physically. There’s also a selfish element in giving, when we give we make people happy, then become happier.

  • Giving make you happy
  • Giving promotes social connections.
  • Giving evokes gratitude.

Spiritual Aspect of Giving

This kind of redemption work means helping people with their needs.

It simply means:

  • Befriend the needy and the weak.
  • Alleviating sufferings.
  • Righting the wrongs.
  • Defending the truth.

Easter Sharing 2020 – SSVP St.Dominic Conference

SSVP 2020 Easter Sharing by St. Dominc Conference, Yaba, Lagos:

On Saturday 9th April, 2020;
The Society of St Vincent De Paul St. Dominic Conference, Yaba, Lagos carried out a door to door Easter sharing to some homes around its jurisdiction; Yaba area.

Many thanks goes out to Benefactors to the society, Excos and some available members. Lots of appreciation also to those in the front-lines (kudos to Sisters Kate, Ifoma, Buchi, Ebehi, Bro John Obidudu, Engr. Jude, Bro James etc), we were able to dispatch food items to four (4) different distribution points.

The 4 points are:

  1. St. Dominic Conference Office to cover (Yaba/Sabo areas). Coordinators- Bro Tony/Bro. Talome.
  2. Bro. Jude house to cover Abule Ijesha. Coordinators- Bro Jude/ Sister Cath.
  3. Bro Elema house to cover Fadeyi. Coordinators- Bro. Emma/Bro. John Egbunowo.
  4. A member’s house in Makoko to cover Makoko. Coordinators-Mary Obasi/ another volunteer.

Rice, garri and other items were delivered in all the above locations and members who live close to these points of distribution volunteered to assist by contacting the coordinators and Exco members.

Meanwhile, we still solicit for contributions (finance or food stuff) from members (members should also reach out to benefactors) who are able to do so.

SSVP 2019 Week for the Poor at St Dominc Conference, Yaba, Lagos:

On Thursday 7th November, 2019;
The Society of St Vincent De Paul St. Dominic Conference, Yaba, Lagos Visited Salvation Army Primary School Ebute Metta, Lagos.

We were received by the Assistant Head Teacher Mr Oshinuga.

The benefiting students were all happy to be gifted School Uniforms kits and Sandals.

You too can also support us to ensure every child stays in school by donating for books, uniforms kits, school fees and also daily feeding for more students within the community and beyond.
