AND THERE WAS A VISITATION TO THE OLD PEOPLE’S HOME, REGINA MUNDI, MUSHIN LAGOS.

Regina Mundi, Mushin was built and established by the now Cardinal Olubunmi Okojie in the 80’s. We were welcomed by Brother Dominic Chibuike to the house.
Reverend Mother Anthonia Adebowale is the present Manager of the place.

Regina Mundi has about 14 Elderly People; the house is filled to capacity….with a recent new intake.
Yes, we met with the elderly people there present, we had a chat, prayed, sang and interacted with them. We dropped a gift too!!!
The elderly people in the home came from various works of life before retirement. The oldest sweet heart in the home is 93 yeas old; MAMA C-JESUS.

You have to be 65 years and above before you are allowed to be admitted into the home.
The Holy Family Home for the Elderly Regina Mundi is a Structure and System that has been faced with many challenges, nevertheless, it has been a source of inspiration to many others which have sprouted as a result of just a visit to the home.

On behalf of the Members of SSVP, Brother Ralph Onyeka and Sister Sarah Agba Appreciated the love, care and Hospitality given to the elderly in the Regina Mundi Home.

2017-Week for the Poor Countdown (1 Day to Go)

Week for the Poor is an annual event organised and executed by Society of St. Vincent de Paul. It has been designed to help “Our Masters” (the less previledged) share from the crumbs that fall from our tables. The week caters for their Spiritual, Psychological, Moral and a bit of financial empowerment. Their health is also not overlooked as it is no longer news that health is wealth.
Our theme for this year is: IN DESPAIR, BE THE HOPE FOR THE POOR. The event will hold from Monday 25th September – Sunday, 1st October 2107 from 4 – 7pm daily in the YCC Hall . We are using this medium to appeal to Parishioners and Corporate bodies to see themselves as the “Rich Man” and pay attention to the Lazarus in the poor. We all hate what the rich man did to Lazarus. How do you intend to Live differently? Reach out to them through the Society. For more information, kindly call 08023230466, 0803444603 or 09090005269
Thanks and God bless you as you provide generously to the needy around us. Amen!!!

bUDGET bREAKdOWN FOR 2017 SSVP wEEK FOR THE POOR

Mother Teresa Quotes1

“Never worry about numbers. Help one person at a time and always start with the person nearest to you.”
– Mother Teresa

Charity Quotes – Day23

The word of God made us to understand that the lord will pay those who considers the poor back – prov 19:17.

The act of giving is generally an act of showing concern and appreciation to others. However giving to those who are not capable pf giving you or paying you back shows a deeper sense of love that moves God to pay you back.
The poor in our society fall into the category above.
Imagine when God pays you back for just helping the poor. You give with ur mighty hands and God will repay you with His Almighty hands.
Just show some love to the poor today and watch out for the blessings of God in your life.

Charity Quotes – Day22

James 2:15-16

If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?

Charity Quotes – Day21

Philippians 4:15-17

And you yourselves also know, Philippians, that at the first preaching of the gospel, after I departed from Macedonia, no church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving but you alone; for even in Thessalonica you send a gift more than once for my needs. Not that I seek the gift itself, but I seek for the profit which increases to your account.

An act of goodwill

May the smallest act of goodwill or kindness come to bless us sometime in the not too distant future… Amen!!!

Charity Quotes – Day20

2 Corinthians 9:10

Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness;

Charity Quotes – Day19

2 Corinthians 9:6-8

Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.
