Week for the Poor is an annual event by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul designed to help “our Masters” have a feel of what it feels like not to be in their situation. By this, we mean that we take out the week to empower them spiritually, morally, psychologically and provide a bit of financial aid and medical assistance and check up to those in need.
The activities are designed to touch on the Seven Corporal Works of Mercy which are our core activities as Vincentians; Feed the hungry, Give water to the thirsty, Shelter the homeless, Clothe the naked, Visit the sick, Visit the imprisoned and bury the dead…
We hereby call on you our esteemed benefactors: IN DESPAIR, BE THE HOPE FOR THE POOR.
